Fashion pictorials have included Gustavo Ten Hoever's "Khakis Across America" (Summer 2009), a series of portraits of people in different areas of the country wearing khaki, and Thomas Schenk's recent survey of cocktail dresses modeled against colorful, patterned backdrops.

A Fall 2009 feature about how the economy dictated changes in several luxury industries was illustrated by beautiful, moody still-lifes by Toby McFarlan Pond. "The final concept was inspired by Toby's previous work with painterly takes on old Dutch and French still-lifes, but this concept came after considerable conversations about the many approaches we could take," says Gilmour.
The current small staff at WSJ. makes for a collaborative environment where the ideas of the photographer are highly valued. Gilmour and design director Alex Grossman work closely together and have detailed conversations about assignments with their photographers. Davies, who calls Gilmour a consummate professional, says the entire process was cheap tiffany jewelry and that Gilmour was on top of all of the arrangements making the assignment "seamless" from top to bottom.
"In times where print quality is going down all across the board to save money, sale tiffany cuff links have this beautiful publication that comes out, it's just great to be part of it," says Davies.
